Yes, violation reports are retained in the database for a seven years.
Are insurance companies notified?
Yes once every week all new violations are transmitted to all of major
insurance companies. These insurance companies can elect to use this data to determine a drivers insurance rates.
Can I see who filed a violation report?
No, violation reports can only be filed by our members and once a
violation report is created there is no reference to which member submitted the report.
Are members required to use the auto-notification feature?
No. Members can simply use the service to report violations that they witness.
They can also inquire into the database to review previously reported violations on any vehicle.
The auto-notification feature is an optional feature of the service.
How can you know if a reported violation is accurate and truthful?
There is no way to confirm the accuracy of a reported violation.
Reported violations should simply be used as a red-flag
that this vehicle is being driven in a reckless manner. It's recommended
that the concerned party perform additional research to confirm the
accuracy of any violation report.
Are violation reports sent to the police?
Yes, if the 5-digit zip code is entered to identify the location of where the violation took place.
We can then determine the mailing address of the local police department so that the violation
can then be mailed to the police.
How does it help when I file a violation report?
Many parents and other concerned family members want to be informed when
their vehicle is operated in a reckless manner. With the auto-notification feature
explained above you can see how one can keep tabs on their vehicles.
